'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith resumes clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he reminisces about the dramatic closing stages of his team's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear following the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful effort from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess immediately converted the loose ball before racing off toward the crowd to mark the goal, with fans congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

This capped an unbelievable recovery given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 deep into the final 45 minutes. Amid the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a spectator trying to get our attention and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win earned a upcoming game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith ran close at the same stage of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. The athletic midfielder had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in stunning style, with the attacker's long-range effort from about long distance going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've awarded it to him for attempting the shot from that range," commented Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right flank after they changed shape. That meant facing off against the England international, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the winger was among the City players who praised the way the underdogs attacked the game.

Guardiola's System

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the fundamentals and simple things, they can just do it over and over again," Galbraith says. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they understand how to manage and slow down a game. You can believe you're doing well and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be alert every second of the game. It takes a tough attitude and focus just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

Swansea pushed to sign Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to secure him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He made a name as a crowd pleaser across a couple of years at his former club and has swiftly achieved similar status in south Wales. At the London club he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at his loan club from Old Trafford. Then came a spell at fourth-tier Salford, before he permanently left his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is entirely separate. Sometimes it seems play is circulated without serious challenge. You see few physical contests. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

Country Call-ups

His progress reflects that maturation for his team and nation, performing well for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including both legs games against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's former international manager, gave him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a game-changing assist.

Starting Out

This marks quite the ride for the player from the neighborhood in his hometown, just outside the capital, who was raised observing his parent, his father, also a engine room operator, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Old Trafford Memory

The player's only game for United came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the Kazakh capital, where they competed on an artificial pitch and the stadium roof was shut owing to conditions of -15C. "This represented a extended travel and it was freezing," he recalls, smiling. "The preceding week, several youth players and I trained together, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and earn some playing time at the end was incredible."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged 16? "The decision proved fairly simple, because I reached the point where I realized I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it reached a stage where I believed I needed to go my own route, move to a lower level and play men's football. Now I'm gradually working my way back up."

New Environment

This occurs during mid-afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has somewhere to be at the early evening: a road rules assessment, another step towards getting on the road. Prior to relocating to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed fun bus, a small coach driven by team personnel, Pete and Howard, which ferries players to and from practice and games.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, Ronald, the midfielder – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to interact with the guys but I'm hoping to be the next one out of the minibus and behind the wheel. His teammate enjoys practical jokes; he's constantly causing mischief."

Supporter Connections

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would blend in with followers on public transport after beginning his trip at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
